We are looking for mature individuals who are capable of teaching English to Thai college students. Volunteers must be compassionate towards life, confident, patient, and outgoing. Volunteers will have students who may be very advanced in English while others only know a little, which can be very challenging. Prospective volunteers must be natural leaders to lead a classroom and of course cultural barriers will arise, thus patience does become a virtue. We don’t intend to scare away prospective English teachers, but teaching English overseas at a college is a very prestigious opportunity only fit for serious candidates. The program isn’t meant to just be a vacation from school and work, rather an opportunity to experience something new and help foreign students become more comfortable with their English at the same time.
To apply to become a Thailand Volunteer, please submit a brief essay (details below) and your resume or CV. All applications will be reviewed and decisions will be made within one week after the application deadline. Once your application has been reviewed, if chosen to participate, then a non-refundable $275 deposit* must be made to reserve your spot.
The essay should be a way for us to get to know you. Please share your interests and hobbies along with why you want to become a Thailand volunteer. This will be the basis for us here at International Programs to decide whether or not the program is right for you.
